Code freeze is a kind of Freeze, in which the code is frozen to prevent modifications and change to be done by developers. Since CI/CD is about continuous flow, code freeze enhance this peformance, code freeze will ‘freeze’ critical git repos during mobile shopping season sales,

The practice of release freezes for mobile applications around the shopping season is a valid and tested approach to sustaining customer interaction on the platform which in turn impacts revenue positively. From experience, three major reasons I can agree this approach is valid

1. The traffic during such period on the application is always very high, so efforts are targeted towards maintaining the performance of the application to prevent downtime; hence any deployment can impart balance negatively

2. From experience, due to high traffic during such period, new users visit the applications, encounter issues, so efforts are being placed in resolving the new issue, many times especially in cart checkout, adding multiple products due to several users at the same time, etc

3. Any downtime can cause a drastic downtime in traffic, this has a direct impact on revenue and in many cases from the customer relation perspective, affects the image of the company in public and social media

The restrictions and constraints in Code Freeze can be unwelcoming to some developers, but by initiating it developers can enhance and secure the quality of an application especially during mobile shopping season.
